An elephant, a bell, even Napoleons tricorn hat, these are just some of the fantastic shapes that you can make out in the rocks along this coast. The Pink Granite Coast starts at Perros-Guirec and ends at Trebeurden. The valley of the Traouiero is a magical world of huge granite blocks, which are balanced precariously on each other. On a 3 hour walk, which begins at the tide-mill of Ploumanach Tregastel, you will find some expiations of the geological origin of the valley and will begin to understand how the micro climate here has produced some very special plants.
PERROS-GUIREC
Its reputation as a trendy resort is well established, with crowded caf terraces, and nightclubs, which only empty in time for the first swim of the day. The most famous beach is at Trestraou, with its white sand and famous volleyball competition in mid August. Some people prefer the atmosphere of the Trestringnel beach, where swimming is especially safe. Between these two beaches there is the harbour. The sailing centre is open all year round. Whether you prefer dinghies, catamarans , windsurfing, cruising, or sports sailing you can practice them all.
TREBEURDEN
This is another beautiful resort, but it is not all you can see on the Granite Rose Coast. At low tide you can walk to the Ile Milliau which has almost 50 acres of moorland, rocks, cliffs, ancient megaliths and fine sand. Further out to sea is Molene a rock topped by a large sand dune, which can be visited by boat.
PLOUMANAC'H - land of sand and rock
Magnificent beaches, where fine, white sand contrasts with the round pink rocks, which stretch away into the translucent, calm blue water. The castle on the Costaeres islet is part of the backdrop. Ploumanach is like a dream, but you will need food for the body as well as the soul, so visit the restaurant La Phare, which serves traditional Breton fare.
